A life-long Dundonald girl Adaline has been greatly involved with many of the village organisations. Growing up, Adaline was a member of the Brownies, Guides and Ranger Guides and a keen highland dancer. She then went on to become the Catering Manager of the Dundonald Sheltered Housing Unit for 20 years.

Adaline has been a valued member of many other organisations such as Age Concern, The Young Womens Group, The Big Ends and is currently the president of the Guild. Adaline is also a highly committed member of our Church and has been a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years.

She continues to offer her time and talents to many catering events such as Burns suppers, Easter breakfasts, and even organising and catering for the Hospitality Tent at the Games themselves.

The Games will be on Saturday 4th August and whatever the day brings, everyone wishes Adaline well.

Whilst we continue to pursue financial support from various sponsors, additional support from individuals is welcome in order to maintain the high standards we have achieved over the years.

Patrons of the Highland Games will be invited to the exclusive Patronage Reception Marquee on Games Day where you will be able to enjoy food and liquid refreshments (2 complementary drinks vouchers will be provided). There will also be an opportunity to meet and greet the 2012 Chieftain Mrs Adaline Finlayson and friends old and new. The new location of the Marquee also provides a prime view of the bands and entertainment from both arenas. A Games rosette and complementary programme is also included.

It costs around £20,000 to run the Games Week and Games Day and all we ask is for a small donation of £15.

The committee works hard throughout the year for this event and we really need you to sign up as a patron to ensure that the games continue into the future.

We really hope that you support such a worthwhile community event.

Graeme Dunn and Alastair McDonald (3rd & 4th from left) recently attended a presentation hosted by GlaxoSmithKline, where they received a Community Award on behalf of the Dundonald Games.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Games Queen ballot.

There was a great turn out at the Old Castle Bar and Restaurant on Sunday night thanks to all the girls and their families. Unfortunately only one could be chosen as queen.

The lucky girl is Bethany Stephens (pictured centre).

Her attendants were also chosen and are Hannah Morgan (pictured left) and Rosie MacKenzie (pictured right).
